Life After HRM - Non-Academic Career Paths Panel

Are you looking to learn more about industry positions post-graduation? Join us to hear from graduates of the Health Research Methodology program as they discuss their career paths and the challenges and successes they have experienced. Our panel of alumni will provide insight into their individual journeys and offer advice on how to successfully transition from grad school to non-academic careers.

Panelists:

Emily Clark ’10 is a Knowledge Broker at the National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools (NCCMT), an organization that supports public health implement evidence-informed decision making in their organizations. As the Lead for capacity building and networking, her diverse portfolio includes developing and refining the NCCMT’s suite of products and services, networking, and outreach to various audiences, and leading and supporting a range of knowledge translation projects. 

Wagdi Elsheikh '10, '14, '21 is a Medical Imaging Account Manager for Christie Innomed, which specializes in Hospital Capital Equipment Sales including MRI, CT, and Diagnostic Imaging. The company provides patient care, research, and innovation-based solutions across Ontario. 

Tamana Hafid '09, '12 was called to the bar in 2016. She is an experienced legal counsel with a strong background in health law, insurance law, and litigation. She currently practices as Legal Counsel at a prominent children’s hospital, specializing in contract review and providing legal advice on all matters pertaining to health research. With over seven years of litigation experience at a multinational insurance corporation, she possesses profound insight into civil legal matters. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. Before law school, Tamana worked as a research associate in the health sector, focusing on hematological cancers, having previously obtained her Master's in Health Research Methodology and Bachelor's of Health Sciences from McMaster University.

Dr. Michael Zoratti ’14, ’21 is the Director of Evidence Synthesis at RainCity Analytics, a boutique HEOR consultancy based in Vancouver. In this role, he is responsible for project design and delivery across multiple clinical areas. He regularly draws from his extensive HRM toolbox of biostatistics, epidemiology, systematic literature review, evidence synthesis, and health economics methodology to solve problems. Michael is also a part-time Assistant Professor with the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact.
