Years ago, while hiking with friends through the Reykjadalur Valley in Iceland, Nicole Rakowski '15, '16 accidentally stepped into a hidden geothermal vent resulting in second and third-degree burns to her body. This life-changing moment, along with future unrelated medical challenges with her vision, radically changed Nicole's outlook on life and fostered a sense of resilience and motivation that helped her recover.

Join us for this inspirational talk where Nicole will share her insights and experiences. She will discuss the interconnected relationship between mental resilience, motivation, physical activity, and personal well-being. She will talk about the benefits of incentives in relation to motivation and sticking to personal goals, particularly in the context of fitness and wellbeing. She will explore how incorporating incentives can aid in behavioral habit change and help individuals maintain their commitment to their wellness journey. By highlighting the positive impact of incentives, Nicole aims to inspire attendees to view physical activity not only as a means of improving their overall well-being but also as a rewarding and sustainable habit.
