The first episode in our Careers After the Uniform series will feature five USAFA graduates who will share their personal experiences and tips for long-term career success in consumer goods and brand management. Our panelists include the CEO of Edgewell Personal Care, executive vice president of Intuit, a world class C-suite and marketing executive, the director of eCommerce fulfillment at PepsiCo and our host, who recently just launched his own branding agency.

 

Panelists: 

Katy Dickson '88

Katy Dickson graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, and after 23 years as a marketing executive at General Mills, leading brands such as Pillsbury, Betty Crocker and Nature Valley, rose to become the Global President of American Girl, known for their iconic dolls and books, and 20 Retail stores. She now sits on the Board of Directors for Flexsteel Furniture, and Black Rifle Coffee Company, owned and operated by US Military Veterans. Katy received her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. 

 

Greg Johnson '90

Greg is currently serving as the executive vice president and GM of Intuit, a global technology platform that helps customers and communities overcome their most important financial challenges. Before his current role, Greg developed into a marketing expertise while working for companies such as Procter & Gamble, Best Buy, and Advance Auto Parts. He is also a Board of Directors member for Qualcomm. Greg was an Operations Research major at the Academy.

 

Rod Little '92

Rod is the current President and CEO of Edgewell, a family of over 25 brands with leading products in shaving, grooming, sun care, skin care and feminine care. The journey to his current role included starting as a financial analysis for Procter & Gamble and was promoted to divisional CFO, then he served as the CFO for Elizabeth Arden and for HSN. Rod received a bachelor of science degree in Management from the Academy and his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.

 

Brett Lucas '97

Brett is a 1997 graduate from the Academy and received a bachelor of science degree in Management. After his time in the Air Force, Brett entered the supply chain and operations management industry and has spent much of his career at PepsiCo. He started as a TPM material improvement coach, transitioned into supply chain management, and is now the director of eCommerce fulfillment. He is also serving on the Board of Directors for the USO of Illinois.

Josh Reece '18

Josh is just starting his career as a brand strategist by recently launching his own branding agency, To The Stars Media. He is currently serving as a contracting specialist and acquisitions professional in the U.S. Air Force. He majored in Management at the U.S. Air Force Academy just received his MBA from the Southern Methodist University COX School of Business.
