Brig Gen (ret) Chris Inglis '76, distinguished visiting professor of Cyber Studies at the U.S. Naval Academy, joins the Air Force Academy Foundation for our inaugural webinar of the Sabre Society Speaker Series to discuss solarwinds, solarium and our cyber future. 

 

SolarWinds, a major U.S. information technology firm, was the subject of a cyberattack that spread to its clients and went undetected for months. Foreign hackers, who some top U.S. officials believe are from Russia, were able to use the hack to spy on private companies like the elite cybersecurity firm FireEye and the upper echelons of the U.S. government, including the Department of Homeland Security and Treasury Department. The Cyberspace Solarium Commission, of which Inglis is a member, was established in the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 to "develop a consensus on a strategic approach to defending the United States in cyberspace against cyber attacks of significant consequences."
