One of the most valuable assets to the military on any mission or action is information. The essential officers who are in charge of collecting this information and then establishing plans to effectively implement that knowledge are our Intelligence and Information Operations Officers. Tune in on Sep. 21 to hear from USAFA grads currently serving in these career fields and learn about their experiences. 

Our Panelists

Colonel James Finlayson, class of 1997 is the vice commander, 17th Training Wing, Goodfellow AFB, TX. He has forward deployed on five occasions to Egypt, Qatar, Iraq, and Afghanistan in support of Operations BRIGHT START, IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM. 

Lt Col Matthew Ziemann, class of 2001 has served in a variety of joint, interagency, and coalition roles at the tactical and operational level. He has served in the Korean Air Operations Center and has deployed numerous times to Iraq as well as Afghanistan and Africa and has flown over 150 combat missions.

Major Ashley Schirner, class of 2009, is the Joint Information Operations Warfare Center Liaison Officer to USINDOPACOM at Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii. She has served in a variety of assignments including Human Systems Integration at the 711th Human Performance Wing; Instructor at the 39th Information Operations Squadron Schoolhouse, and Information Operations Planner at the 607th and 609th Air Operations Centers.

Captain Courtney Sheeks, class of 2014, is an intelligence weapons officer for the 20th Fighter Wing and graduate of the USAF Weapons School.  She has led national and theater ISR collection, analysis and production

Capt Robert Stelmack, class of 2017, is currently the Air Force's first Information Operations officer to attend the Naval Postgraduate School's M.S. in Information Strategy and Political Warfare program.
