A live, web-based 60-minute conversation with Kevin Young, poet, author, and poetry editor at The New Yorker and the Skidmore community, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, and friends, featuring welcome remarks from President Marc C. ConnerHannah Charity '22 and Salvatore Juliano '21 will introduce Mr. Young.  Faculty Facilitators will be Maggie Greaves, Assistant Professor of English, and Bakary Diaby, Assistant Professor of English, and affiliated faculty in the Black Studies Program.

Of note, Mr. Young has just been named the next director of the National Museum of African American History & Culture. With more than 37,000 objects, the NMAAHC in Washington, D.C., is the largest center dedicated to the African American experience in the country. 

Part of Skidmore’s Racial Justice Initiative, this event is the culmination of a virtual Skidmore residency with students and faculty in the English Department and Black Studies Program.
