By clicking this button, you submit your information to the school and platform provider who will use it to communicate with you regarding this event and other programs. We are excited to be able to offer this online event free of charge. We seek to provide a robust variety of learning opportunities similar to what our students experience at Skidmore. If you are interested in supporting our current students and haven’t had a chance to make a gift yet this year, we hope you'll consider doing it now. Every donor to Skidmore College helps to make an important difference in the lives of Skidmore students and faculty. Your generosity enhances the college's ability to provide students with financial aid, intimate classroom experiences with world-class faculty, experiential learning opportunities including collaborative research and internships and rewarding extracurricular and campus community experiences through athletic programs and clubs.

Dr. Michael Hill, professor of Africana studies and English and director of the Program in Africana Studies at Washington and Lee University, will discuss "MLK and A Legacy of Collaborative Brilliance." Dr. Hill will discuss how Martin Luther King, Jr., handled the challenge of working with partners both within and outside the black community.  Analyzing King’s civil rights era strategies, he will explore their relevance in today’s society.

Hill's talk will be followed by a question-and-answer discussion moderated by Winston Grady-Willis, professor and director of Skidmore’s Black Studies Program.

Skidmore College is partnering with MLK Saratoga and sponsoring Dr. King Celebration Weekend events to honor Martin Luther King Jr. and his continuing legacy.

MLK Saratoga has organized an array of rich, insightful, inclusive, and challenging programs for the entire Saratoga Springs community from Friday, Jan. 14, through Monday, Jan. 17. The full program is available on the MLK Saratoga website.
