Eric Amsler begins his 20th season with the HEAT and first as Vice President, Player Personnel/General Manager, Sioux Falls Skyforce. Amsler oversees the scouting department for the HEAT and the gathering of all information on potential prospects, draft, professional, and G League. He continues to assist Executive Vice President, Basketball Operations/General Manager Andy Elisburg and Vice President, Basketball Operations/Assistant General Manager Adam Simon in personnel matters when it comes to both the HEAT’s NBA and Skyforce’s G League rosters. Additionally, he will continue to scout domestically and internationally for future prospects.

Over the past 19 years, Amsler has held numerous positions in the HEAT’s Basketball Operations department after initially joining the franchise as an intern for the 2004-05 season. He has served as the Scouting and Information Coordinator (2005-07), Scouting and Player Personnel Coordinator (2007-14), Director of Scouting Operations (2015-18), Director of Scouting/Assistant Director of Player Personnel/Assistant General Manager, Sioux Falls Skyforce (2018-19) and finally Director, Player Personnel/General Manager, Sioux Falls Skyforce (2019-23) before his current promotion.

A two-sport athlete in basketball and football, Amsler graduated from Dickinson College (PA) in 1999 with a degree in Psychology. Born and raised in Bellefonte, PA, Amsler resides in Biscayne Park with his wife, Veronica, and their three children.
