While commonly considered a superficial frill of a bygone era, professional networking is an essential professional skill. Come learn how to handle business situations, from conferences to cocktail parties, with poise and confidence.

This is an interactive program designed to be both educational and entertaining.

We will cover such topics as:

• Handshakes: Lessons from Goldilocks
• Introductions: What They Say About You
• Body Language: What You Are Really Saying
• Conversation: Business versus Social
• Connecting With Clients and Customers
• Building Business Relationships

Be sure to include your address when registering! If you register by February 11, we'll send you a sweet treat for participating. On-campus students will receive their package at the front desk of their residence hall. Off-campus students will receive their package by US Postal Service.

About the presenter:

Jodi RR Smith, president and owner of Mannersmith, is an etiquette consultant specializing in social and professional conduct. Working with individuals, corporations, and other organizations, Jodi educates in a way that is both instructional and entertaining, helping her clients increase their confidence levels and achieve success in today's world.

Jodi has been promoting better behaviors since 1986. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Rochester and her Master's Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Her extensive background in motivational psychology and human resources has served to reaffirm her belief that proper manners and etiquette are an essential part of functioning successfully in today's world.

Ms. Smith is also the author of the Barnes & Noble titles The Etiquette Book: A Complete Guide to Modern MannersFrom Clueless to Class Act: Manners for the Modern Man and From Clueless to Class Act: Manners for the Modern Woman.

Why etiquette? "Credentials" (or, How I Became an Etiquette Advocate) is a light reflection on Mannersmith's humble beginnings.
