Get in the Halloween spirit with Giancarlo Venturini, a student at Mason Gross School of the Arts, as he paints a pumpkin. He’ll provide tips and tricks for painting your pumpkins this season. You can use a block R stencil to follow along, step by step, or just watch for fun!

Materials needed:

  • pumpkin
  • block R stencil (large or small)
  • acrylic paint (any kind and color)
  • flat or bright brush (sizes 6-10)

Venturini is a senior with a double concentration in painting and sculpture, and minors in linguistics and art history. His paintings often relate to language and typography, using the formal qualities of text to convey humor, slang, lived experiences, and explorations of another language.
