December is HIV/AIDS awareness month. Learn from Dr. Dima Dandachi as she discusses research being conducted at the University about how the COVID-19 virus affects patients with HIV.

About Dr. Dima Dandachi
Dima Dandachi, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri. She serves as the medical director of the HIV/AIDS program at the University of Missouri and the outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy program.

Dr. Dandachi ‘s research focuses on HIV disease and prevention. As the medical director of the HIV program at the University of Missouri, she aims to improve the quality of care of patients with HIV in Missouri. Dr. Dandachi has publicly presented on the rise of HIV in mid-Missouri, as well as the research currently being conducted at the University about the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). She is the lead principal investigator on a multicenter study about COVID-19 in patients with HIV and the site principal investigator for the national convalescent plasma trial for patients diagnosed with COVID-19.
