You are invited to a special panel discussion featuring Brent Shock and three students who are at Miami thanks to donor-funded scholarships. 

Brent Shock, Miami’s Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, will share an update on Miami’s Emergency Needs Fund. Over the past year, the Emergency Needs Fund has provided a critical lifeline of support, and Brent will share how the fund has been used to help students in need.

Our panel discussion will feature three students who are at Miami thanks to donor support. They will share how donor-funded scholarships have made their Miami experience possible. The moderator will be Heidi Schemmel, Associate Director of Scholarship Management.  Student panelists: 

  • Julian Huff is a senior Sports Leadership & Management and Media & Culture double major from Cleveland, OH.
  • Carolyn Scully is a senior Strategic Communication and Psychology double major from Cleveland, OH.
  • Jeffery Jones is a sophomore Communication Design major from Hamilton, OH. As a 1st generation student, who is also husband and father, he is hoping to start a new tradition of earning a college degree.
