Miami Presents: A Place of Asset, Not Deficit: First Gen Alumni Perspective

Join the Miami University Alumni Association for a riveting conversation of alumni who are first generation college graduates. Miami is celebrating First Gen Celebration Day. The conversation will be moderated by students of the Miami First student organization. Miami First student organization is comprised of current Miami University students who are first generation college students. This is the second panel discussion with alumni who are first generation college graduates. The first one will take place on Friday, November 6th at 3pm. The alumni panel discussion will talk about their journey and provide advice for students.

Bre Robinson BS ‘08, MS ’11 is entering her fourth year at Miami University. She serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Leadership and Diversity. Breanna earned a Bachelors of Science degree and a Masters of Science degree in health promotion from Miami.

Kierra Williams ’11 is a Sr. Program Manager, Talent Management for Amazon Web Services. Kierra is the founder and president of the Kindred Canvas Foundation, a nonprofit centered around the arts and civic engagement that sponsors an annual scholarship for students pursuing post-secondary art education. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in psychology and minored in Black World Studies.

Jose Jacobo BA ’18, MS ‘20 is an Assistant Resident Hall Director at Miami University. Jose earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology and a Masters of Science degree in student affairs/higher education. He has been on staff at Miami for over two years.
