Miami Presents: CEC Women's Advisory Committee Speaker Series - Work That’s Out of This World

Live, typed captions will appear below or can be customized here.

Converting solar energy into usable power seems like something easily done these days, but what about manufacturing those solar panels… on the Moon?!  Join us for a fascinating conversation with Lyndsey McMillon-Brown ‘13, about her work at NASA’s Glenn Research Center to develop a new solar cell that can be manufactured on-demand in space.  Fellow CEC alumna, Denise Taylor ‘92 will chat with Lyndsey about her path to NASA and the out-of-this-world research, science, and technology that continues to take us to new frontiers.

Lyndsey McMillon-Brown ‘13 is a Research Electrical Engineer at NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Lyndsey graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and completed her Master’s (2015) and Ph.D. (2019) in Chemical Engineering at Yale University. A 2015 recipient of Miami's 18 of the Last 9 Alumni Award, Lyndsey is currently working for NASA to develop solar cells that can be manufactured in space.

Denise Taylor ‘92 is the founder of Next Level Business Consulting, a firm providing branding, website design, social media management & email marketing, and podcast production services.  Next Level is also the hub for all things DeniseTaylor.live, which includes mentoring, speaking, and events consulting.  She started her Next Level Business Consulting firm in 2016.
