Join us virtually for Winter College – five days of lunchtime lectures capped off with culinary celebrations on Charter Day. All fun and no exams means this is the collegiate experience of your dreams.

Adam Beissel will join us to discuss the ethics, politics, and economics of international and sport mega-events like the Olympics and the World Cup by focusing on the upcoming 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Dr. Adam S. Beissel is an Assistant Professor of Sport Leadership and Management (SLAM) at Miami University. Prior to joining Miami in 2017, Adam previously held a position on the faculty of the Physical Cultural Studies program at the University of Maryland – College Park. He earned a BS in Sport Management from Towson University, an MBA from the University of Baltimore/Towson University, and a Ph.D. in Sport Studies from the University of Otago (New Zealand).
