Coach Kirin Kumar's vision of "leadership and empowering student-athletes to be active agents in fostering a community of accountability and respect" is what stood out when she spoke about her ideas for the future of Miami's Softball program. Once on board, she put it into action. In just two years, Kumar has transformed Miami softball, not just into a MAC power, but a program feared on the national stage. Listen to anyone associated with the Miami softball program talk, and keywords and repeated themes quickly rise to the surface. Goals. Expectations. Standards.

Presented by MIAMI Women and in celebration of the 50-year anniversary of Title IX, Jennie Gilbert '88 will sit down with Kirin Kumar to discuss what leadership is to her, how she instills it in her players, and how it has transformed them as student-athletes on and off the field. Jennie Gilbert '88 is Miami's Associate Athletic Director & Senior Woman Administrator, who serves as a voice representing women student-athletes and women staff within intercollegiate athletic departments.

Stay tuned for more webinars celebrating the 50-year anniversary of Title IX and save the date for the on-campus event 50th Anniversary of Title IX: Celebrating a Legacy of Love & Honor- Friday, October 14-16, 2022.

The presentation is free to watch online, but registration is required. Please reach out to Emily LeFevers, bostiae@MiamiOH.edu, with questions.
