Join us for a special presentation as Miami alumnus Roger Sherman '01, BBQ Pitmaster and owner of District Pit shares his tips and tricks to perfecting your grilling techniques! As we wrap up summer and approach Labor Day you'll watch Roger grill steak and have the opportunity to ask him your burning questions!

Roger is a Senior Product Manager for Asurion and owner of District Pit BBQ Catering in Washington, D.C. The District Pit was born in 2016. Roger and family cater events for anywhere from 25 to 400 people.  He uses a specific wood for each type of meat he smokes, paying close attention to time and temperature as he cooks. Ribs are his specialty, but he’ll smoke anything you can imagine. Pizza, chili, pulled pork, salmon, turkey, venison, and alligator. Anything is fair game. All District Pit's profits go into college savings accounts for his two daughters.

The presentation is free to watch online, but registration is required. Please reach out to Emily LeFevers, bostiae@MiamiOH.edu, with questions.
