CEC Presents: The Future of Robots

This virtual event is being offered as part of the 2022 College of Engineering and Computing Alumni and Friends Conference on Friday, April 29 at Marcum Conference Center and Hotel.  Find more information or register to join us on campus here.

Join Mechanical Engineering alumna Laura Wasson ‘12 for a conversation about robotics, a multidisciplinary field where computer science, engineering, and technology meet, and how the field of robotics is expected to grow significantly over the next decade.

Laura Wasson ‘12 is a senior manager on the Robotics & Automation team at Proctor & Gamble with nearly a decade of experience in industrial automation and robotics. Graduating from Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2012, she pursued master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from UC and Business Administration from Xavier University while working full-time at Clippard Instrument Laboratory. During her time working at Clippard and P&G, she discovered a passion for robotics and automation. Laura is Chair of Finance for the Junior League of Cincinnati, volunteers with May We Help, and is on Miami’s Robotics Taskforce.

Laura and her husband, Matt Wasson ’12, have been married for 7 years and are proud Miami Mergers. They have a dog named Professor Plum and love any excuse to return to Oxford to visit Hueston Woods or Bagel & Deli. Laura’s best advice for students is to find your passion because you’ll always work harder when you love your field of work!

This event is open to all and free to watch online, but registration is required.  If you have questions, please reach out to Mollie Young at youngmr@miamioh.edu.
