Please join us for a special conversation with Producer/Director Alana DeJoseph and Screenwriter Shana Kelly '92.

Founded during the Cold War, the Peace Corps stands as an icon of American idealism. From the beginning its mission of world peace and friendship proved to be a towering task.  Alana and Shana have helped bring the story of the Peace Corps to film, taking viewers on a journey of what it means to be a global citizen.

A Towering Task has been selected at numerous film festivals including the Denver Film Festival, Vail Film Festival, Black Star International Film Festival, Dallas International Film Festival, The Hague Global Cinema Festival, and the Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival. The film has also won awards for excellence at the Impact Docs Awards and Accolade Global Film Competition.

If you would like to watch the film before the event, a link will be sent upon registration for free viewing through Tuesday 4/5.

Miami Professor of Political Science Ann Wainscott will host this online discussion with Alana and Shana to learn more about the film and their journeys that lead them to work together.  They will welcome your questions while you register or live.

This web event is free but registration is required.  Please contact J.J. Slager, slagerjj@MiamiOH.edu, with questions about the event.
