Join us for a special presentation as Dr. Andrew Offenburger draws from his experience on the road and as a historian of the American West to analyze the American road trip genre. We invite you to participate in the discussion as we examine themes like U.S. expansionism, the history of the American West, and cross-country travel.
Dr. Andrew Offenburger is Associate Professor of History at Miami University, where he is a scholar of frontiers, borders, and American expansion. He is the author of Frontiers in the Gilded Age, published in 2019 by Yale University Press, and he recently edited The Aimless Life, just out with the University of Nebraska Press. Dr. Offenburger is currently writing a history of the American road trip genre.
