Fact or Fiction: What the research says about cannabis use for common conditions

Medical cannabis has been legal in Canada for more than two decades, but its use has dramatically increased in the last few years and, with the legalization of recreational cannabis in 2018, there has been an increased interest in therapeutic uses for cannabis. Join us for this webinar, where participants will learn what the latest research says about the potential for cannabis to help with common medical conditions.

Speaker Bios:

Dr. Jason Busse is the Associate Director of the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research and is a Professor in the Departments of Anesthesia and Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University. His research interests include chronic pain and evidence-based clinical practice.

Dr. James MacKillop is the Director of the Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Medicinal Cannabis Research and the Director of the Peter Boris Centre for Addictions Research. James is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences. His research interests include the nature and treatment of substance use disorders and related conditions.

Host Bio

Dr. Anthony Levinson is a Professor at McMaster University and is a Neuropsychiatrist practicing Medical Psychiatry in Hamilton, Ontario. As the Director of the Division of e-Learning Innovation in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Levinson exercises his passion for researching and developing online solutions to deliver high-quality health educational experiences to both the public and health care professionals. As part of the leadership team for the McMaster Optimal Aging Portal, he leads the design and development of multimedia content, including online learning about various topics related to healthy aging.
