The Socrates Project: Learning Lessons from COVID-19: With Dr. Ahmad Firas Khalid

Dr. Khalid reflects on what researchers, academics, policymakers, and systems have learned so far from Covid-19 and how it is unfolding; and the lessons we are learning about its long-term effects on our health and social systems. Dr. Khalid was interviewed by Dr. Katie Moisse Assistant Professor, McMaster University. Ahmad Firas Khalid is a physician, health policy advisor, and lecturer on health systems and policy with expertise in medicine, education, health policy, knowledge translation and health emergencies working with relief and intergovernmental organizations. Dr. Katie Moisse, Assistant Professor, Interdisciplinary Science, completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, her Masters in Neuroscience at King’s College London, and her PhD at Western University in Pathology. She was then accepted into Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, interned at Scientific American, reported on health and medicine for ABC News in New York for four years and then edited stories about neuroscience and autism at Spectrum. Katie joined McMaster in January 2018 where she’s an Assistant Professor with the School of Interdisciplinary Science.
