Muscles, bones, organs, and more. Your body has so many different parts that all work together to help you "move" through your day. Do you have questions about the incredible machine that is your body? Send us your question at https://mcmasteralumni1.typeform.com/to/JmC7Ai?source=Z for Emma and then tune in to Zoom. Questions are due Friday, April 24 at 4 pm Emma Nicholson is a master’s student in the Kinesiology program at McMaster University. In the NeuroFit lab, Emma studies how exercise can affect your physical health and mood. By studying how physical activity affects both your body and brain, Emma hopes to encourage more people to get up and move, especially during challenging times! Before returning to McMaster University for her MSc, Emma completed her Bachelor of Science (2016) and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for a vaccine manufacturer. In the NeuroFit lab, her research explores the interactions between inflammation and mental health. Emma is currently examining the anti-inflammatory effects of physical activity and their impact on acute stress reactivity in the student population. In future research, Emma is interested in working with a depressed population and investigating the impact of an exercise intervention on inflammation, and cortisol reactivity.
