Webinar Presenter: Erica Komisar (C’86), Psychoanalyst and Parent Guidance Expert Webinar Description: Developmental psychology reveals that children are neurologically fragile in their first three years of age. Additionally, these three years are critical for establishing a child’s emotional regulation abilities. Parent guidance expert Erica Komisar will provide guidance on how new parents can best integrate their new responsibilities with their career. Her talk will include recommendations for negotiating challenges in the work place and the best places to look for parenting assistance from others, when necessary. 3 Key Takeaways: 1. The first three years of a child’s life are critical for emotional security, stress resilience, and emotional regulation 2. Work life ‘integration’ is more realistic and healthier than work life ‘balance’ 3. You can do everything in life, but you can’t do everything at the same time About the Presenter: Erica Komisar, LCSW is a clinical social worker, psychoanalyst, and parent guidance expert who has been in private practice in New York City for the last 28 years.
