The mission and identity of Saint Ben’s as a college for women is the essence of who we are. As we move with our partners at Saint John’s University toward a single president, it’s important to define exactly what being a college for women means. After all, alumnae, students and friends of both Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s share the importance of strengthening our individual identities even as we work toward sensible integration.

This spring we’re continuing our robust Saint Ben’s @ Home series of webinars, directly focusing on our role as a college for women … and why that matters. Each month we’ll touch on an area of everyday life and consider how a CSB education — and the CSB community — impacts that area.

Join us in February as we look at education. The past 12 months have been a year like no other for educators and parents. We’ll take a look at some lessons learned about remote and hybrid learning. We’ll also spend some time exploring the challenges of gendered professions like education and what the CSB Board of Trustees’ recent statement on what it means to be a college for women means in the Education Department.

Moderator Kathy Hansen (CSB VP of Institutional Advancement) will sit down with:

Professor Terri Rodriguez, CSB/SJU Education Department

Assistant Professor Diana Fenton, CSB/SJU Education Department

Maria Stanek Burnham ’01, language arts teacher at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School and CSB Alumnae Board President
