Miami Presents: The History and Legacy of Western College

The Miami University Libraries is hosting an online lecture to honor Women's History Month. The Walter Havighurst Special Collections and Archives welcomes Debbie Baker, Director, Western College Alumnae Association and Eric Harrelson, Preservation and Conservation Librarian.

Join us for conversations about women's education, the achievements of women, the closing of the Western College Alumnae Association, the preservation of their materials, and how they have collaborated with Miami University Libraries to store their materials and continue to provide them as the online presence of their digital publications.  

Debbie Baker, is the Director of the Western College Alumnae Association (WCAA). She provides support to the WCAA Board of Trustees and is responsible for the daily operation of the organization, including fundraising, budget management, event planning, and various publications. Debbie has been at Miami, working with the WCAA since 1999, and received her BIS from Miami University with concentrations in Organizational Leadership, Gerontology, and Families, Gender, and Society. 

Eric Harrelson, is the Preservation and Conservation Librarian at Miami University.  He is responsible for the care, maintenance, and storage of Miami University library collections and the Special Collections and Archives. Eric has been at Miami since 2023, and he received his MLIS from the University of North Texas.
